PLASTICS + ECOLOGY

The ecology problem does not start with the wastes. Every process has an impact on the environment, from the extraction of raw materials until the life end of a product.

The plastics have important values:

- Only 4% of the petroleum extracted is used by plastic industry.

- Its incineration is a source of caloric energy. The burned plastic frees as much useful heat as its weight in fuel - oil.

- Thanks to the plastics a lot of advances have been achieved in medicine; new goods and technologies have been developed; due to its low cost are accessible to more people.

- Because the plastic is inert, it doesn't contaminate the air nor the water. Because is long life produces a "visual pollution" when they are disposed in an inappropriate way. The  people are the ones who really contaminate.

- The plastic use trends to preserve other natural resources.

- The plastic packaging guarantees fresh food, hygiene and an excellent presentation.

- Among its major values we should consider that it is unalterable in the medium; because of this the plastics result excellent for the construction, for water conduction, for the medicine and to contain food.
